…It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!…

Hello there wonderful Family & Friends!

We have an exciting announcement regarding our kids Christmas initiative this year! In an effort to allow for more flexibility, newness and out-of-the-box ideas in reaching out to your community with the Reason for the Season –Jesus– we’d like to propose the following: *a 2009 Christmas Magazine*.

This would be filled with photos & mini-testimonies or photo captions of what your child did to bring Christmas cheer to someone. Your part would simply be to find out how the Lord wants to use your child/children’s particular strengths/talents, and then have fun…putting those into action! Then all you would have to do is e-mail us a photo & a little explanation to go along with it.

We’d like to ask that all participants e-mail their contribution by December 30th!

To make things as simple & as efficient as possible we are going to e-mail you the PDF file (Lord willing by January 15th), and you could then print out as many copies as you need. You might want to print out some extra to give to your family & friends too!

Here are some examples of *’deeds of Christmas cheer’* to give you an idea of the types of deeds that we’d love to include in our magazine. A child could:

Bake a treat & give it to a neighbor

Give candy canes & tracts at a park or another type of event

[you could attach the tract to the candy cane & carry them in baskets]

Read Christmas stories to younger children

Draw or paint something & give it to someone

Make a Christmas card w/ a verse written inside

Donate toys or clothes to a shelter or needy family

Send a gift to a kid on a needy mission field & pray for him/her

Sing at a retirement community & say a prayer for them

Put on a play & then hand out tracts

Make & send an encouraging card to a relative or contact

Rake a neighbor’s yard or help out in some other way

Give (or make) a little gift for a teacher

Give away a toy that he’s not using to a needy kid

As you can see, the possibilities are endless. We’re sure the Lord has heaps of ideas, so have fun finding out what He has in store for your child!

To recap things for you; the starting date for this is December 1st and the last day to send in your photo/caption (or mini-testimony) is December 30th. The file would then be sent to you, DV, January 15th for you to print out copies as you needed.

Isn’t it exciting thinking about what the Lord has in store for our children this Christmas season?! We’re excited!

Much love & Christmas prayers for you & your kids,

Your Friends…from the fantastic land of CP!

Hi everyone!

WOW, only 5 weeks till Christmas! We know that you & your home are undoubtedly already making preparations for your Christmas witnessing push or are already well on your way. How exciting to have another chance to share His love with others at this special time of year.

Last year you’ll remember that the kids in our region participated in a Christmas soul winning contest which was very successful! Over 1500 souls were won to Jesus — by our kids! It’s thrilling to see our children bring the true gift of Christmas to others and bear fruit that will last forever, isn’t it?
We (your CP Board) prayed about what to focus on this Christmas and the Lord gave some ideas which we wanted to share with you. We do pray they are a blessing and help to you as you work with your children this year and help them to have a Christmas they’ll never forget.

1. Activity Log!

We created a special Christmas Activity Log (download at the bottom of this post) that you can use with each child in your home to help keep track of all the different ways that they participate in your home’s witnessing this Christmas. Events you can include on their Christmas Log are:
Helping with your home’s mail ministry
Making Christmas cards or goodies for your friends or contacts
Performances
Puppet Shows
Skits or Plays
Personal witnessing & follow up visits
Christmas Caroling
Other Christmas Activities that you do such as visiting your neighbors, Old Folk’s Homes, CTP’s, etc.
Each time the children participate in witnessing in one of these ways they receive a “Christmas Star” on their chart. Whether they participated alone or with a group they would receive a star.

This log begins on December 1st and ends on Christmas Eve, December 24th.

2. Appreciation Celebration!

After December 24th, we would like to encourage each home to host an appreciation celebration from Jesus for the kids. We’ll be sending out an “Christmas Appreciation Celebration Party Pack” with ideas to help make the planning of this party easier for you. There will be a certificate to give to each child recognizing their Christmas witnessing which you can fill in with their stats. There will also be a special message from Jesus to read to the kids and some games and activities planned. The idea is that the whole home will be acknowledging the kids’ efforts and appreciating them for a job well done. If there are several homes in a city you might want to organize this celebration all together to combine efforts and make it even more fun for the kids.

You’ll want to plan your Appreciation Celebrations as close to Christmas as you can, making it part of your Christmas fun. For those who might have trips planned at that time, we would suggest that you try to have this party by January 15th at the latest.

3. Junior BOB Reporters!

We would like to invite kids to sign up as reporters for the BOB (bobreport.org, our NACRO blog). Reporters can send in witnessing testimonies, along with pictures, as they happen and we will post them on the BOB as they come in. We know the kids will be excited to see their testimony in lights, the reporter and photographer, performers, etc., all given credit. We’ll even post audio and video reports if they are concise and clear. Help the kids make Christmas exciting by helping them get their reports in and watch the fun happen!
You can also post other Christmas ideas that you’ve come up with or that your home or family are doing this Christmas.

We look forward to hearing from you and our children as we share the Joy of Christmas with a very lost and desperate world this year. Merry Christmas and we’ll see you soon!

Lots of Love,
Your CP Board

Joan (of Tracy) set up a blog for the camp with cool pics, samples of the classes for kids, a little video clip, and more…

It’s also a fun site to show your kids at home.So take them there for a little look-see.

Please send replies to our CP board na.cp@famboard.com by April 15th.

Dearest Ones,

We love you dearly & thank the Lord for such a great team of parents & families in our region. This year sure is exciting as we prepare ourselves for the offensive which we will all be a part of in some way, and participate in so many wonderful training programs.

A big thanks to everyone that’s written in with questions about The PEP! Read more
